Before Yolanda Gregg won the title, there’s a kind of work that rarely gets noticed.
It happens in service, in repetition, in the small decisions that don’t look like decisions at all. Drinks are made without hesitation, measurements don’t shift, and nothing needs to be corrected mid-process. For Yolanda Gregg, that kind of control became the foundation of her approach long before it was tested on a competition stage.

Her early career moved through structured service environments where consistency mattered more than expression. Cocktails had to arrive the same way each time, regardless of pace or pressure. Over time, that creates a habit. Balance is no longer adjusted; it’s already in place. She is specialised in creative craft cocktails and classic mixology. She currently works behind the stick at Dean’s Steakhouse.

IBA World Cocktail Champion, 2024

At the IBA World Cocktail Championship 2024, organised by the International Bartenders Association, Gregg represented the United Kingdom among competitors from more than sixty countries. She won the Classic Cocktail category, earning the title IBA World Cocktail Champion 2024.

The drink itself didn’t rely on contrast or complexity. It held its structure cleanly. Each element stayed aligned, with no need for adjustment across repetition. In a format where variation becomes immediately visible, that kind of stability is what stands out.

A Style That Holds Its Shape

Yolanda Gregg - British World Cocktail Champion 2014

Gregg’s cocktails don’t aim to impress through change. They settle into place.
Sweetness, acidity, and alcohol are positioned so they don’t compete, but support each other. There’s a sense that nothing has been added without reason, and nothing is there to distract from the structure itself.
It’s a style that depends on certainty. Once the framework is set, it doesn’t move.

Consistency as a Standard

The UK’s bartending landscape spans a wide range of service styles, from high-volume environments to more controlled cocktail programs. Gregg’s work reflects an ability to operate within that range without losing consistency. Her transition into international competition shows how a service-driven background can translate into a format where execution is measured, not assumed.

After her world title, her work continued through training and mentorship, reinforcing the same principle that shaped her career: that consistency is not something added at the end, but something built in from the beginning.

Yolanda Greggs trajectory isn’t defined by reinvention. It’s defined by reliability, where precision becomes so consistent that it no longer needs to be demonstrated.
