History

Founded by George Smith in 1824, The Glenlivet Distillery began its journey in the heart of Speyside, near the Livet River. This pursuit for quality soon led to The Glenlivet becoming recognized as the « Single Malt » due to its smoothness and distinctive flavors. Over the years, the distillery has undergone significant expansion; by the late 1930s, production surged to more than 200 gallons a week.
