Tasting Notes

Dewar’s White Label presents a delightful balance of fruity and floral notes with a creamy mouthfeel. On the nose, expect an inviting bouquet of honey, citrus, and a hint of smoke, layered beautifully with aromas of ripe pears and a touch of vanilla. The palate is equally engaging, with flavors reminiscent of rich toffee, light caramel, and subtle hints of heather and oak. The finish is smooth and warm, providing a lingering sensation that hints at smoke and vanilla custard, making it a perfectly enjoyable experience.

History

The history of Dewar’s White Label begins in 1846 when John Dewar Sr. opened a small wine and spirits shop in Perth, Scotland. Initially importing wines and creating their own store brands of whiskey, the Dewar family expanded their vision to establish a reputation in Scotland’s whisky industry. This legacy was carried forward by his sons, who played a pivotal role in the whisky blending process.

Fabrication Process

Production of Dewar’s White Label begins with the careful selection of over 40 single malt whiskies, with Aberfeldy at its heart. The grains and malts are blended before the maturation process. Dewar’s employs a unique double-aging method, where the whisky is first matured in oak casks before being blended. This initial aging allows the flavors to develop intensely. After blending, the whisky undergoes an additional aging phase for six months, marrying in oak casks to create a more integrated and smooth final product. This meticulous approach allows the flavors to meld beautifully, ensuring a consistent profile across batches and improving its refinement.
