History
The Port Charlotte line originates from the Bruichladdich distillery, established on the Isle of Islay in Scotland. Over the years, the distillery has evolved significantly, especially with its focus on producing heavily peated whiskies under the Port Charlotte label. This 18 Year Old whisky is noteworthy as it is the oldest expression released to date, representing a continuation of Bruichladdich’s commitment to quality and the distinctive character of Islay malts.
Fabrication Process
This whisky is crafted using 100% Scottish barley, with the entire process taking place in Islay. The barley is malted and then subjected to traditional distillation methods to harness the unique flavors of the region. Following distillation, the spirit matures in carefully selected casks for 18 years, allowing it to develop complexity and depth before bottling.
